1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Peak Golf Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on https://www.peak-golf.com. It should be read with the Privacy Policy. For questions, contact privacy@peak-golf.com.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on a browser or device. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, tags and software-development-kit identifiers. They can support security and essential functions, remember choices, measure usage or support marketing.
3. Legal approach
Strictly necessary technologies may be used without consent where they are essential to provide a service requested by the user or to secure the website. Optional analytics, preference or marketing technologies should be used only after valid consent where required by UK or EU electronic-communications law. Consent must be a genuine positive choice and must be as easy to withdraw as to give.
4. Cookie categories
| Category | Purpose | Default | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, load balancing, session management, consent storage and requested website functions. | Enabled | Not normally required |
| Preferences | Remember language, display or other optional choices. | Off unless essential | Usually required |
| Analytics | Measure visits, pages, referrals, interactions and website performance. | Off | Required in most UK/EU cases |
| Marketing | Advertising, campaign attribution, profiling or cross-site tracking. | Off | Required |
5. Cookies currently used
| Cookie/technology | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Consent preference | Peak Golf / consent platform | Stores the user's cookie choices so the banner does not reappear unnecessarily. | Necessary | 6–12 months |
| Security/session cookie | Hosting or website platform | Maintains security, fraud prevention or a requested session. | Necessary | Session or short term |
| Analytics cookies | Analytics provider, if enabled | Measures website usage after consent. Exact names depend on implementation. | Analytics | Provider-specific |
6. Consent and preference management
On the first visit, users should be offered equally clear choices to Accept All, Reject Non-Essential and Manage Preferences. Optional categories must be off by default. The website must not place optional analytics or marketing cookies before consent. Consent choices should be recorded and refreshed at an appropriate interval or when purposes or vendors materially change.
A persistent "Cookie Settings" link should be available in the website footer so users can withdraw or change consent at any time. Withdrawal must stop future optional storage and access; it may not automatically remove information already processed lawfully.
7. Browser and device controls
Users can also block or delete cookies through browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of the website from working. Browser controls do not replace the need for the website to obtain consent where required.
8. Third-party services
Embedded content, analytics, support tools or social links may be supplied by third parties. These providers may set their own technologies once enabled. Peak Golf should list each provider in the consent interface and review its contract and privacy documentation.
9. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy when technologies, providers or legal requirements change. The current version will be published with a revised effective date.
